Sydney Sultemeier is an artist rooted in the Texas Hill Country, where she was raised on a ranch near Fredericksburg. Surrounded by nature from an early age, she developed a deep appreciation for the land, animals and people that define the Western way of life. Sultemeier received her Bachelor of Science in Health Science Studies and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Art in Studio art with a concentration in painting.

Her artwork explores the relationship between people, animals and places, capturing moments that reflect the strength, beauty and authenticity of rural western America. She is especially drawn to the distinct personalities of animals, the quiet resilience of working individuals and the ever-changing Texas landscape. Her work honors the world she comes from while inviting viewers to see it through a new lens, fostering connection, appreciation and respect.

Her latest work has been adjudicated by Leah Gose and Christopher Blay and was shown in the Martin Museum of Art. Several pieces are also housed in private collections throughout the Texas Hill Country.

The brand 7J originates from my father's family ranch in Johnson City, Texas. For generations, it was used to brand cattle and was part of a legacy that was passed down to me in 2025.  Today, the brand is not used on a working ranch, for the time being, but has been transformed into a symbol of family history and a future shaped by my desire to bring meaningful, beautiful and authentic works of art to the world.

This brand marks the care, love and dedication that I pour into all of my works. Even when the works leave me and go to their forever home, they will always be a part of my herd and will hold a special place in my heart.
